Before I get into this post, I want to say, I had something else awesome planned, but with me being a mommy and all, I always remember to have a back up plan just in case.
Today is one of those days. It’s ok though, the awesomeness will be on the blog tomorrow!
Let’s get into it!
I made this drink a while back for a friend, and she said ‘this would be a great holiday drink’. Now to me, I think you can mix it with any juice depending on the occasion, but the recipe I have works really well this time of year or even New Years Parties.
I call it the Poinsettia. Now, everyone has their own version, because one thing you learn becoming a bartender, is that everyone has their own version on classics, or they make up new drinks based off classics. This is no different.
As you see, it’s real simple, and in my opinion, very tasty. Key things are:
-Both juice and champagne need to be chilled. Warm juice or champagne is no bueno!
-The recipe(at least mine) is a build in glass. No shaking, stirring, straining, or layering are involved. Just pour!
-It’s half of one, half of the other. Now, if you decide on more champagne then juice, I say I’m not responsible for anything that happens, including the walk of shame you may do the next morning.
-It doesn’t have to be name brand. I paid 10 dollars on this drink. If you want to, go ahead, but if you have a budget, it’s a great drink to have to make you look like you spent tons of money but didn’t(as you see by the picture).
And lastly…….
-Chilling the glasses help. It keeps the drink cold(in case you don’t have the chance to chill either liquid).
The first of many drink treats I have for you guys! Drink up, as my cousin says, but be responsible, and enjoy!
