Day 11: Binge Day

The funny thing about this post, is I do it regardless of the holidays. Every Saturday, I stay in my room and do this, to every sense of the word. Not to get to religious, but I’m a firm believer in the Sabbath. Sundown Friday night to sundown Saturday night, I just chill. No housework, no drama or anything. Some of my best naps happen on Saturdays. Now of course you probably think I’m Jewish. Not exactly. I believe the good in people. If you do wrong you should be held accountable for it, and you should help out those less fortunate then yourself in anyway you can. I pray(a lot) and meditate.

I just don’t attend services of any kind. It’s just other people I have issues with not my faith.

That’s a whole other post.

It’s Saturday, and I wear out my Xbox and Smart TV. I call it Binge Day! Yes. I think everyone does it, but to what extent? Do you stay in your PJS? Do you get snacks, and zone into you boob tube? Do you say ‘the hell with everything else, I’m going to relax?’ I do! I make sure my Netflix, Hulu, and You tube accounts are working and paid for, and go into town on these apps. My kids do the same, whether its as a family or separately, we chill.

After the hustle of the week, we take one day to just be lazy. Catch up on movies, and tv shows. I love now that Netflix and Hulu have their own programming to watch as well. Right at this moment, I’m listening to a Veronica Mars marathon as I write. Loved this show! I tried to find Herbie the love bug, but couldn’t find it on Netflix or Hulu. I loved that series of movies as a kid!

We reset ourselves, and say forget the world on Saturdays. It’s a nice reboot, and we get to catch up on what we missed. Best thing about the holidays, is nothing is on regular cable, so as I just told my youngest, turn on either one, and catch up on the stuff you missed due to homework and girl scouts. I know, for a fact, I will be watching the New TMNT movie and Maze Runner tonight. Don’t get me wrong, I love movies, but with the cost of going, and three different people in the house, going to the movies is like trying to write a peace treaty. I try to catch up once it’s on demand, or on one of those accounts we have.

We also watch old school stuff, if you haven’t noticed. My older two saw they have Garfield and friends on Hulu along with Sailor Moon. I officially feel old, but love it!

Just today, I’ll be watching Constantine, the Librarians, Marco Polo, and haven’t decided if I want to try out Sons of Anarchy or House of Cards. One weekend, I watched Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and my favorite, The Tutors. Who knows. All I know, with my shopping done, and trying to relax, Netflix, Hulu, You Tube, and WWE aps couldn’t have come at a better time.

I keep the real sabbath πŸ˜‰ and I wouldn’t change it for the world. A day without technology, only family and time to get in touch with what’s real. Enjoy yours!!

Oh that sounds like a perfect way to relax. Friday is our Netflix night, and if we’re not on the road for hockey then Sunday is our day to chill. Pj’s are the only uniform needed. Board games are played, Wii competitions are made, and snacks are plentiful. Thank you for the peek into your life Mommy. 😊
