As I stated before, our family is a lover of games, card, board, video, mind games, you name it! Also everyone is on their own when we play games.
With that said, this board game is a classic in this house and now that Ms. Hyperdiva is older she can play to. I’m talking about……
Monopoly!
This game has a special place in my heart, that it was one of the games I played a lot as a kid. I was a daycare kid, and at times I went before school(6am), to school, and after school(until 6pm), sometimes. My mom worked a lot before she became disabled, so daycare was a second home at times. I played with other kids, and got really good at the game.
Once I got older, it became a family tradition to play on my birthday or Christmas. Recently, it’s been more Christmas. I passed it down to my kids and they love it! I love it too, because it teaches about money management.
Not to mention we have a blast! Again great family bonding, and better than doing things separately. I didn’t really introduce them until 3rd or 4th grade. It’s important they get the concept of the game, and how to add/subtract bigger numbers. Once you have that, you can have a good game going for hours.
We’ve done the old school, credit card, and junior version. Of course Super Samurai wants me to buy the WWE version, and I think I might.
In any event, never count out your board games. You never know what they take away from the experience, and again it’s great family time!

Monopoly is the go to game in our household too. We play the NHL Monopoly version as my oldest is a hockey enthusiast. I love the concept of money management, buying teams and properties, and celebrating hat tricks as a player. I think that game will be getting packed up when we make our holiday travels. 😃
