It has been officially a year.
I know I have been harping on that for some weeks now, but it means a lot. I never saw myself as a writer, in the sense of making it career. I wrote for fun and to take my mind off of things. Never realizing how many people enjoy the post, ya know?
As this site grew, it surprised me. I mean I’m a crazy, quirky, weird, nerdy, creative, and artsy mom of three just trying to make the best of what I have. I thought, I can’t be the only one, right? I know there are parents out there in my same position. Not necessarily with special needs kids, but home for any reason, being a stay at home parent or primary caregiver.
I wrote to show being home doesn’t have to be your life. It doesn’t have to rule you, or be boring. You make the best of it, and if you do it right, it’s fun in the process. If you happen to be part of that club that you don’t sign up for, special needs parent club, as I call it, life is always interesting. I just decided to throw my hat into the mix, and put my talents and knowledge out there for the masses.
What I didn’t know was how it would take off, and the people I would meet in the process. I didn’t predict the success and growth from it all. I never saw publishing a book, and hopefully many more to come. I didn’t see the awesome people I won’t connect with, that has been the best part of it all. I love you guys like your my extended family I haven’t met yet.
Trust me, I have extended family I haven’t met yet, LOL.
As we, because you guys are going on this ride with me, keep going, I figure I’d share with you the news I got Friday.
Now as an actress, you get news, and take it how you can. No matter what happens, it’s awesome in it’s own right. Friday, I got an email for an opportunity to audition in Los Angeles for a national commerical. I still have to call for details, and I’m hoping it’s during the time I’m on vacation there, so it would make it easier, but the casting director is a fan of the blog, and you tube channel.
It’s an awesome feeling to be contacted for an audition when you’ve been out of the game for a while, but I never thought this blog and videos would get my foot in the door. That was the news I wanted wait and share, but I’m so nervous and excited about it. You guys are like family to me, and we are all in this together, right?
On Monday, I’ll make the conference call to find out details and such.
A book, auditions, and much more to come. We are taking this over!
Happy One Year Anniversary to us! May many more come with more news, and great memories!
