I’m so sorry for the lack of holly days post you guys! It as been so busy with the move and getting settled. Add in new developments in our lives, it’s been crazy around these parts!
Never fear! For I am back and blogging shall commence!
Now, I chose to re post the like to this project in the blog, but I may also re-blog it too. Who freaking knows, what I do know is holly days is going forward as planned.
Now last year, I tried out giving infused holiday vodka to family and friends who were close to me. Simple recipe, no worries. It was a hit with everyone who got one. Now, since we just moved, I didn’t do it this year, but I expanded the choice of liquor and ingredients to add.
I decided to do it during thanksgiving since I could have others sample my creations.
As I said in the blog, it’s simple, you make sure you have a tight sealed container(mason jars are really good and cheap). Then you select your choice of liquor, and ingredients. Pour all into the jar, an shake them 1-2 daily. Within 2 weeks(depending on the liquor and ingredients), you can enjoy your creation!
This year I choose to recreate desserts in a glass jar. We had Peach Cobbler Whiskey, Apple Pie Vodka, and Sweet Potato Pie Cognac.
SPPC: Cognac, Sweet Potato(Peeled), Nutmeg, Cinnamon, and Pecans
PCW: Peaches(drained if canned, peeled if fresh), Nutmeg, Cinnamon, and Almonds
APV: Apples(cut into slices and peeled), Nutmeg, Cinnamon, and Walnuts
Total of 50 dollars for three large jars of after dinner sipping while watching football! Can’t beat that. The project is really simple, just have to remember to shake the ingredients 1-2 times daily. You can infuse just about anything, so keep it in mind. It’s also some thing personal from the heart versus a gift card or something.
Let me know if you try it or if you’ve tried it with something different!
